QueenVeda Veda Johnieve Queen Veda Johnieve Queen, age 83, of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at New Hope Room & Board in Hodgesville, WV, while under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice. She was born May 13, 1925 at Gum Mountain, WV, a daughter of the late John Raymond and Celia White Queen. On July 3, 1943 she married Forrest Dale Queen, who preceded her in death on October 18, 1995. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Elaine Reppy; two brothers, Robert (Bob) and Earl Queen and one sister, Madge Streets. She is survived by one son Bobby Dale Queen and wife Alice of Milford, DE; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Ludie Queen of Buckhannon; special niece, Iris McLain of Buckhannon and several other nieces and nephews. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant View United Methodist Church at Hodgesville. She was an avid hunter and fisherwoman and was well known for her paintings and craftwork. Friends will be received from 5-8 PM, Friday, September 19, 2008 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ed Lowther officiating. Entombment will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Mausoleum. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
