Kiser Raymond W. Kiser, age 88 of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born July 31, 1918 at Franklin, WV a son of the late William Hampton and Margaret Johnson (Kee) Kiser. On October 8, 1941 he married Bula Brady Kiser who survives. Also surviving are three daughters; Saundra Sheahan of Spartanburg, SC, Suzanne Haas of Buckhannon, Cheryl Brown and husband Ted of Pulaski, TN; two sons, William “Bill” Kiser, Jr. and wife Ruth of Keyser, WV and Robert “Bob” Kiser of Buckhannon; three granddaughters, Susan Covault of Indianapolis, IN, Johanna Haas & husband Shae Davidson of Bloomington, IL and Summer Kiser of Buckhannon; eight grandsons, William “Matt” Haas of Portland, OR, Jeremiah Kiser of Keyser, Matthew Kiser of Keyser, Michael Kiser & wife April of Keyser, Robert Kiser & wife Ona of Buckhannon, Ted Brown & wife Stephanie of Hoover, AL, Tyler Brown of Pulaski and Brian Van Meter and wife Sarah of Keyser; four great-grandsons, Trevor Kiser of Buckhannon, Gabriel Kiser of Keyser, William Michael Brown of Hoover, AL and Shean Van Meter of Keyser; four great-granddaughters, Alaina Kiser of Keyser, Sabrina Van Meter of Keyser, Tiffany Van Meter of Keyser and Brittany Van Meter of Keyser; three sisters, Marie Simpson of Clarksburg, WV, Virginia Weaver of Richmond, VA and Rachel Ruddle & husband Billy of Arlington, VA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers; Rush, Pendleton “Tony” and Watson Kiser and three sisters, Sue Smith, Eunice Bible and Martha Lee Varner. Mr. Kiser was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Buckhannon. He was retired from West Virginia Wesleyan College where he was Director of Admissions and Director of Financial Aid. Mr. Kiser was a World War II veteran serving in U.S. Naval Aviation for 5 years. He served on the Battleship the USS Washington. He received the Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on Saturday, May 12, 2007 from 4-8 PM. Funeral service will be held 1 PM Sunday, May 13, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon with the Rev. Dr. Damon Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Buckhannon VFW Post #3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post #7 American Legion and DAV Chapters #5 & 36 will conduct military honors at the graveside. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Scholarship Fund at the First United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
