Obituary of Ava Lee Jeran

Ava Lee Jeran Ava Lee Jeran Ava Lee Jeran, age 88, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital NCF in Buckhannon. She was born November 6, 1926 in Vienna, WV, a daughter of the late Harry and Cora McCauley Righter. On May 31, 1948 she married Robert H. Jeran who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Robert R. Jeran and wife Robbyn and Stephen Jeran and wife Gini all of Buckhannon; three grandsons, Ryan Jeran and wife Denice, Justin Jeran and wife Erika and Ross Jeran all of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Sara Jeran of Buckhannon and Claire Kesecker and husband Jeff of Denver, CO; two great-grandson, Koby and Brody Jeran both of Buckhannon and two great-granddaughters, Elly and Berkeley Jeran both of Buckhannon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Baker. Mrs. Jeran was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and an outstanding teacher. She graduated from WVU. Mrs. Jeran was a teacher for 30 years and taught English and History. She started teaching in Buckhannon then to Fairmont, WV, Johnstown, PA, Bethlehem, PA and then back to Buckhannon. Friends will be received Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald M. McCauley officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
