Edward L. Jackson
Edward L. Jackson, age 86, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at his home. He was born March 11, 1926 in Hall, WV, a son of the late Claude and Opal Hall Jackson. On December 8, 1950 he married Glenna Jean Mick who preceded him in death on October 26, 2010. He is survived by three daughters, Pam Thomas and husband Bill, Judy Parker and husband Joel and Nancy Wayts, all of Buckhannon; five grandsons, Josh Hinkle of Weston, WV, Erick and Evan Lantz and Michael Thomas, all of Buckhannon and Jeffrey Wayts of Clarksburg, WV; two granddaughters, Erin Oleksa of Morgantown, WV and Natalie Nicholson of Buckhannon; twelve great grandchildren; one brother, Brooks Jackson of Louisville, KY; one sister, Helen Reger of Buckhannon and a very special family friend, Debbie Rolenson of Buckhannon. Mr. Jackson was the owner and operator of Jackson Lumber Company. He was the second oldest member of the Bethany Baptist Church. He served in the Army Air Force during WW II. He was also a member of the Buckhannon Lions Club and Buckhannon County Club and was an avid golfer. He was extremely proud of his seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and will be sadly missed. Friends will be received Monday, November 19, 2012 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Tuesday at the Bethany Baptist Church in Hall, WV with the Rev. Dr. Daniel Unger officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Baptist Cemetery. The Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion and DAV Chapters # 5 & # 36 will conduct military honors at the graveside.
