Obituary of Marie Opal Hinkle Hill

Marie Opal Hinkle Hill, age 102, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, February 22, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born July 7, 1913 in Kesling Mill, WV, a daughter of the late James Blaine and Roxie Kesling Winans. On January 11, 1936 she married Herbert H. Hinkle who preceded her in death in 1974. In addition to her parents and 1st husband, she was preceded in death by her 2nd husband, William Boyd Hill; one son, Carl Hinkle; one brother, Paul Winans and five sisters, Gertrude Bennett, Virginia Vanscoy, Mary Ridenour, Dorothy Harris and Betty Wagner. She is survived by two grandsons, Jerry M. Hinkle and wife Mary of Allen, TX and Kevin S. Hinkle and wife Melissa of Morgantown, WV; two granddaughters, Karla Mealey and husband Dale of Weston, WV and Amy Buchanan and husband Mark of Barboursville, WV; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Beatrice Miller of Kesling Mill and a special caregiver, Thelma Carpenter of Buckhannon. Mrs. Hill was a homemaker and a member of the Good Hope Tabernacle of Buckhannon. Friends will be received Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Holly Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
