Obituary of Alice Mae Paugh

PaughAlice Alice Mae Mick Jeffries Paugh Alice Mae Mick Jeffries Paugh, age 88, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, April 1, 2016 at Elkins Regional Convelsant Center in Elkins, WV. She was born August 12, 1927 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Victor E. and Opal V. Bennett Mick. On June 11, 1982 she married Miles W. Paugh who survives. Also surviving are six sons, Ronald L. Jeffries and wife Deloris of Buckhannon, Garry W. Jeffries of Fairmont, WV, Joe Jeffries and wife Juanita, Roger R. Jeffries and wife Janet, Bill Jeffries and wife Joann and Donald R. Jeffries all of Buckhannon; three daughters, Barbara M. Wharton and husband David of Salisbury, MD, Linda S. Herndon and husband Clay of French Creek, WV and Debra A. Hamner and husband Roger of North Pole, AK; seven step sons, Thomas M. Paugh and wife Kay of Shinnston, WV, Patrick E. Paugh and Gerald E. Paugh and wife Sharla all of Horner, WV, Phillip A. Paugh and wife Deloris of Brington, WA, James D. Paugh and wife Heidi of Madison, KS, Steven Paugh of Morgantown, WV and Mark W. Paugh and wife Carrie of Weston, WV; one step daughter, Victoria R. Bates and husband Steven of Wallace, WV; two sisters, Eva Cheshier of Elyria, OH and Jessie Davidson of Vermillion, OH; sixteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; fifteen step grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Tammy Herndon and two sisters, Edith Bailey and Eula. Mrs. Paugh worked for Reidboard Clothing Factory. She was a volunteer at St. Joseph’s Hospital at the Gift Shop. Mrs. Paugh was a sales lady for Stone & Thomas in Buckhannon and Morgantown, WV. She was a life member of the VFW Post # 3663 Ladies Aux., and the Frank B. Bartlette Post # 7 American Legion. Friends will be received Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease L. Day and the Rev. Jack Streets officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Veterans Cemetery in Buckhannon. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
