Obituary of Khlar Harper

Khlar E. Harper Khlar E. Harper Khlar E. Harper, age 95, of Elkins, WV died Monday, April 6, 2015 at Nella’s Nursing Home in Elkins. He was born December 29, 1919 in Harman, WV, a son of the late Fred and Cynthia Judy Harper. On April 28, 1946 he married Opal Russell who preceded him in death on October 20, 2009. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one sister, Kathleen Wade and one brother, Carl Harper. He is survived by two sons, David Harper and wife Linda of Elkins and Ron Harper and wife Hope of Buckhannon, WV; two grandsons, Bryant Harper of Petersburg, WV and Steven Harper of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Julie Bennett of Buckhannon and Amy Wamsley and husband Jerry of Buckhannon; two great-granddaughters, Madison Wamsley of Buckhannon and Darby Harper of Davisville, WV and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Harper worked on the Railroad as a Lineman and was a Christian by faith. Friends will be received Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Estes officiating. Burial will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park in Tennerton, WV.
