Charlotte Joan Hinkle
Charlotte Joan Hinkle, 75, of Dunbar, passed away Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at Hubbard Hospice House. She was retired from WV Workers Compensation with 46 years of service and attended the Dunbar United Methodist Church and the First Baptist Church in Dunbar. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon. Joan attended Buckhannon-Upshur High School and WV Wesleyan College and was a member of the Kanawha Valley Chapter of the NSDR and the Capital City Women’s Club. She was a charter member of the Buckhannon Rainbow Girls and served as Faith, Hope and Worthy Advisor. Joan was past secretary of the Anthony Jacob Henkel Family National Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, W. O. and Alpha Smith Hinkle and two sisters, Maxine Hinkle Clark and Mary Hinkle Bailey. Surviving are her nephews, Gary Bailey and his wife, Percilla of Eleanor and Phillip Bailey of Newton, NJ; nieces, Willa Clark Mullins and her husband, Larry of Hilliard, OH and Carol Bailey Hoernle and her husband, Eric of Lafayette, NJ. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Dr. Okey B. Harless officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Wednesday. Additional services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with the Rev. Steven Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Friends may call at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home, 2 hours prior to the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Dunbar United Methodist Church, 1401 Myers Avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064.
