Judson J. Hodges
Judson J. Hodges, age 90, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston, WV. He was born October 17, 1918 in Upshur County, WV, a son of the late Judson T. and Rosella Post Hodges. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and a partner, Mary Glenn Bell. He is survived by one son, James J. Hodges of Fairfax, VA and ex-wife, Juanita Hodges of Keyser, WV. Mr. Hodges was a member of Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church of Buckhannon, a member of the VFW Post # 3663 and Franklin Lodge # 7 AF & AM. He was inducted in the Upshur County Athletic Hall of Fame and the Potomac State College Athletic Hall of Fame, where he worked as an assistant basketball and football coach from 1946-1951. He was an FBI Agent for 22 years, served as Assistant to the Director and retired as a Supervisor. He served in the US Army Air Force during WW II where he attained the rank of Major. He was instrumental in establishing miniature horses in the US. Friends will be received Tuesday, July 14, 2009 from 4-8 P at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Billee Scott Mick and Bobbie Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Church Cemetery in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Mary Glenn Bell Piano Scholarship Fund at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion and DAV Chapters # 5 & 36 will conduct Military Honors and Franklin Lodge # 7 AF & AM will conduct Masonic graveside rites.
