Obituary of Jean W. Harris

HarrisJean Jean Lea Harris Jean Lea Harris, age 78, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, July 23, 2007 at Crestview Manor in Jane Lew, WV. She was born April 27, 1929 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Lloyd Lee and Leda Kiddy Waugh. She is survived by her husband William E. Harris of Buckhannon; one son, James Lloyd Harris and wife Barbara S. of Belpre, OH; two grandsons, Jonathan William Harris and James Patrick Alexander Harris both of Belpre and one sister, Carolyn K. Gregori of Youngstown, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Norton Waugh. Mrs. Harris attended the First Presbyterian Church of Buckhannon, WV. She was a retired teacher from Harrison and Wood County public schools and was Past President of the Parkersburg Branch of the American Assoc. of University Women and Chapter L of PEO. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Alpha Eta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, and the Alumni Organization of WV University. She was educated in Berkeley and Braxton County Public Schools and graduated from WV University in 1951. Graveside services will be held 2 PM Thursday, July 26, 2007 at the Heavner Cemetery with the Rev. John E. Harris officiating. Memorial services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Buckhannon at 2 PM Saturday, July 28, 2007. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
