Alpha “Pat” Hamner
Alpha “Pat” Hamner, age 59, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, May 14, 2007 at her home. She was born November 10, 1947 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Lewis and Naomi Beal Skelton. On June 7, 1970 she married Gail Roger Hamner who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Melissa Currence and husband Billy of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Kirsten Currence and Kasey Currence both of Buckhannon; four brothers, Harry Skelton of Phoenix, AZ, Fred Skelton of Baltimore, MD, Gene Skelton of Kingwood, WV and Pete Skelton and wife Millie of Buckhannon; one sister, Katherine Delores Bauer of Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Vera Barber; two brothers, Jeff and Steve Skelton; father in law, George Hamner; mother in law, Arnie (Wyatt) Hamner; one brother in law, George Junior Hamner who died in the Sago Mine Disaster on 1-3-2006 and one sister in law, Louella McKenzie Hamner. Pat was a file and payroll clerk for Moore Business Form for 27 ½ years. She was Pentacostal by faith and her grandchildren were the Sunshine of her life. Friends will be received Wednesday, May 16, 2007 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Friday, May 18, 2007 at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease Day and Pastor David Jesse officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Cave Cemetery at Rock Cave, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
