violethickey Violet “Nellie” Hickey Violet “Nellie” Hickey, age 85, of French Creek, WV died Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, WV. She was born October 5, 1921 in Mitchell, IN, a daughter of the late James P. Chastain and Forest (Cornelius) Chastain Brabender. August 19, 1939 she married Pearlie Nelson Hickey who preceded her in death on October 27, 1986. She is survived by one daughter, Deborah (Hickey) Johnson-Hillock andf husband Ron of Redlands, CA; two sons, Daniel Eugene Hickey and wife Jean of Chatanooga, TN and James Nelson Hickey and wife Sandy of Cicero, IN; three grandsons, Christopher Johnson of Whittier, CA, Brian Hickey and Brad Hickey both of Kokomo, IN; two granddaughters, Kristy Colangio of Florida and Kim Kopps of Las Vegas, NV; one great-grandson, Mike Colangio of Boston, MA and one great-granddaughter, Sidney Hickey of Kokomo. Mrs. Hickey was a homemaker and a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Memorial service will be in Indianapolis, IN at a later date.
