Enid Pauline Goodwin
Enid Pauline (Roberts) Goodwin, 83, of Saybrook, Ohio went home to be with the Lord Jesus on June 18, 2014 at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Enid was born in Coalton, West Virginia to Dorsey and Addie Roberts on January 15, 1931. She married Richard Goodwin of Buckhannon, West Virginia on October 4, 1946 in Coalton, West Virginia. Richard and Enid were married with five children when he passed away on May 26, 1958. Unwavering in her love and loyalty, she remained a widow and raised the children on her own. Enid’s son Randy, 18, passed away in 1968 and her son, Michael, 56, passed away in 2011. She is survived by three children, Richard (Rosina) Goodwin of Ashtabula, Ohio, Vickie (Goodwin) Gruening of Mount Dora, Florida, and Timothy (Elizabeth) Goodwin of Mount Dora, Florida. Enid and Richard had 45 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Mildred (Roberts) Arbogast of Beverly, West Virginia and Bonnie (Roberts) Nicely of Ocala, Florida. Enid was also preceded in death by her parents and six of her siblings; Virgil Roberts, Glenn Roberts, June (Roberts) Arbogast, Dorsey Roberts, Don Roberts, and Dale Roberts. As a single mother, Enid worked at Geneva Rubber Company and Catherine Ellen Nursing Home. She was a Sunday School Teacher and also taught Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed singing in church with her family. Enid was a long time member of Gateway Church, formerly known as First Assembly of God, Ashtabula, Ohio. Enid was a natural caregiver who extended the grace she found in God to all she encountered. Family will receive friends from 1-2:00pm Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Mt. Union United Methodist Church in Buckhannon, WV with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00pm. Following the service she will be buried next to her husband, Richard Goodwin, in the Mt.
