Obituary of Junior E. Burr

Burr, age 80, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, January 11, 2007 at his home under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice of Buckhannon. He was born March 2, 1926 at French Creek, WV, a son of the late Edward “Brud” and Mabel Smith Burr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Reta Smith Burr who died October 1, 1961; one brother and two sisters. He is survived by three sons, Monnie Burr of Buckhannon, Vaughn Burr and wife Mary of Rittman, OH and Randall Burr and wife Tracie of Volga, WV; two daughters, Carol S. Potts and husband Christopher of Buckhannon and Marilyn Lancaster and husband Gene of Wirtz, VA; two step sons, William Allen Crites of French Creek and Riley Wayne Crites and wife Diana of French Creek; twenty-two grandchildren; many great grandchildren; three brothers and seven sisters. Mr. Burr was a timber cutter and a Christian by faith. Friends will be received from 6-8 PM, Sunday, January 14, 2007 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Rosenbaum Family House Fund in memory of Kelley L. Martin in Junior’s honor, P.O.
