untitled3 Vernon Larry Grove Vernon Larry Grove, age 71, a resident of the Good Samaritan Home in Belington, WV died Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. He was born August 10, 1941 a son of Hazel Lillian Thayer Grove of Buckhannon, WV and the late Basil Luther Grove. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by one brother, Weldon Grove. In addition to his mother he is survived by one sister, Mona Stoneking of Columbus, GA; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Grove of Buckhannon; three nieces, Susan Hall and Crystal Ward both of Columbus, GA and Nita Grove of Buckhannon; and one nephew, Ken Stoneking of Lawrenceville, GA. Larry was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church in Ellamore, WV and Sand Run I.O.O.F. He lived most of his life on the family farm near Ellamore before moving to the Good Samaritan Home in Belington. He loved playing Rook, hunting, and playing bingo. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Friday, August 24, 2012 from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Tallman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
