untitled2 Helen Ruth Garrett Helen Ruth Garrett, age 84, of Volga, WV died Monday, May 9, 2011 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, WV. She was born August 14, 1926 in Barbour County, WV a daughter of the late Wade and Lydia Barnett Nutter. On March 30, 1946 she married James E. Garrett who preceded her in death on October 22, 1984. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Murrell, Clay and Vernon Nutter; one sister, Clarinda Greene and one grandson, Jamie DeBolt. She is survived by one daughter, Ruth A. DeBolt and husband Jim of Glen Dale; one son, Larry Edward Garrett of Volga; three granddaughters, Wendy Fordyce of Bixby, OK, Jennifer Taylor and husband Trevor of Tulsa, OK and Tracie Burr and husband Randell of Volga; three great-grandsons, Tyler and Justin Fordyce and Chase Taylor; two great-granddaughters, Alexus Taylor and Christine Loudin; one step great-grandson, David Burr; five step great-granddaughters, Bobbie Jo Sharp, Christine Brady, Tonya Gould, Erica Clark and Rachel Sargent and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Garrett graduated from BUHS in 1944. Private family services will be held with Rev. Joseph Shreve officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery in Philippi, WV. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Animal Friends of Barbour County, WV PO Box 452, Philippi, WV 26416.
