untitled2 Goldie Allene Gooden Goldie Allene Gooden, age 93, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Holbrook’s Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born December 22, 1917 in Ivy, WV, a daughter of the late Charles Everett and Gracie Ellen Hiner Hibbs. On September 21, 1936 she married James Clifford Gooden who preceded her in death on May 1, 1997. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Oliver Quentin Dean; four sisters, Camella Hibbs Haymond, Odessa Hibbs Riggs, Joylet Hibbs Mitchell and Brenice Hibbs Mills and three brothers, Roy, French and Homer Hibbs. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Joyce Lafferty of Bedford, TX and Marceda Grace Newman of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Kristina Leggett and husband Tim and Mary Anne Newman all of Buckhannon; two grandsons, James Lafferty and wife Patty of Colleyville, TX and David Lafferty of Bedford; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gooden was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. Friends will be received Monday, April 25, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV.
