Kathleen Guthrie V. Kathleen Guthrie, age 86, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, September 14, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, WV. She was born February 2, 1923 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late William Homer and Judi Lamb Tenney. On May 25, 1941 she married John Sterling Guthrie who preceded her in death on November 24, 1993. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita VanGilder and Margorie Shoop and one brother, Stanley Tenney. She is survived by one son, John William (Boe) Guthrie of French Creek, WV; two daughters, Nancy Phillips of French Creek and Juanita Ryan of Hampton, VA; four granddaughters, Shauna Hatfield, Cindee Espenshade and Lisa Howard all of VA and Kelly Pugh of Buckhannon; three grandsons, Roscoe Phillips, Jr., Lee Phillips and John Guthrie all of French Creek; ten great-grandsons and five great-granddaughters. Mrs. Guthrie was a cook for the Upshur County Board of Education and a Methodist by faith. Friends will be received Thursday, September 17, 2009 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery at Tallmansville, WV.
