Obituary of Willis Lee Bennett

Willis Bennett Willis Lee Bennett Willis Lee Bennett, age 78, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, October 12, 2006 at Holbrook’s Nursing Home in Buckhannon. He was born July 31, 1928 in Ellamore, WV, a son of the late Howard Martin and Ethel Radcliff Bennett. On August 23, 1968 he married Phyllis Ann Mahan who preceded him in death on September 17, 1999. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by six brothers, Howard Junior, Bobby, Ray, Jimmy, Arthur and Billy Joe Bennett and two sisters, Anna Mae Ware and Mary Frances Small. He is survived by two brothers, Alva Bennett and Lee Roy Bennett both of Buckhannon and three sisters, Grace Cogar and Thelma Linger both of Buckhannon and Linda Perry of Gastonia, NC. Mr. Bennett was a coal miner for Compton Coal and a member of the Heaston Ridge United Methodist Church. Friends will be received Sunday, October 15, 2006 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Holly J. Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Tallmansville, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
