GowerSonny Sonny R. Gower Sonny R. Gower, age 56, of Sharpe Hospital in Weston, WV died Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Sharpe Hospital. He was born April 27, 1952 in Upshur County, WV, a son of the late Gerald and Helen Ruth Wamsley Gower. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Deborah Wojciki Gower and his second wife Connie Beam Phillips Gower. Mr. Gower is survived by two sons, Sonny Gower, II of South Charleston, WV and Steven Gower of Weston; two brothers, Buck Gower of Taylorsville, NC and Danny Gower of Buckhannon, WV and one sister, Donna Godsave Meadeville, PA. Mr. Gower served with the US Army and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Buckhannon. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 PM Monday, July 28, 2008 at the Poling-St.Clair Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 AM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Jeremiah McSweeny as the celebrant. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Cemetery at Tallmansville, WV. VFW Post #3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post #7 American Legion and DAV Posts #5 and #36 will conduct Military Honors at the grave site. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St.Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
