Union Church Cemetery Edna George Edna George, age 98, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Holbrook’s Nursing Home. She was born July 18, 1909 in Tallmansville, WV, a daughter of the late Peter and Dolly Eskew Tenney. On March 29, 1929 she married Granville George who preceded her in death on July 16, 1964. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Bill George; one great-granddaughter, Crystal Smith; six brothers, Albert, Harold, David, Edgar, Dennis and John Tenney; three sisters, Mamie Wilfong, Emma Dawson and Pearl Kincaid and one son-in-law, Hayward Smith. She is survived by three daughters, Wilma Jean Smith of Fairmont, WV, Betty Louise Reed and husband Freeman of Buckhannon and Vera Wilfong and husband Frank of Buckhannon; one daughter-in-law, Janet George of Charleston, WV; one brother, Virgil Tenney of Maryland; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Mrs. George was a homemaker and a member of the South Buckhannon Mission Church. Friends will be received Friday, March 14, 2008 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery in Tallmansville.
