Obituary of John Harvey Fenney

John Harvey Fenney, Sr. John Harvey Fenney, Sr. John Harvey Fenney, Sr., age 65, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, March 3, 2014 at home of his son in Clarksburg, WV while under the care of People’s Hospice. He was born October 18, 1948 in Logan, WV, a son of the late Henry and Opal Napier Fenney. On November 15, 1974, he married Lillian M. Gushlaw who preceded him in death on October 2, 2008. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Jaxton Dean and one brother, Bill Fenney. He is survived by one son, John H. Fenney, Jr. and wife Angela of Clarksburg; two daughters, Johnna Dean and husband Matt of Logan and Nikki Preece of Chapmanville, WV; four grandsons, John and Jacob Fenney both of Clarksburg, Justin Taylor of Logan and Trey Taylor and wife Malorie of Man, WV; four granddaughters, Kaylei Fenney of Clarksburg, Myka Adkins of Logan and Ashlee and Amber Neece of Chapmanville; two great-grandsons, Cayden and Cash Sutherland both of Chapmanville; one great-granddaughter, Lacie Taylor of Man; one sister, Mary Elmore and husband Junior of Smith Mountain, VA; one sister-in-law, Thelma Fenney of Wortland, KY; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs, Pappy and Abby. Mr. Fenney was a Fire Safety Technician. He was a member of the Buckhannon Moose Lodge # 598 and the Eagles Club. He served in the U.S. Marines and was a member of the United Mine Workers. Friends will be received Friday, March 7, 2014 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 1 PM Saturday at the Napier Family Cemetery at Wayne, WV with the Rev. Bill Marcum officiating. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
