Emily Post Fenton - died on July 27, 2013.
Mrs. Fenton was born in Lost Creek, West Virginia, to the late Ancel Bassett Post and Maude Barnes Post. She is survived by daughters Emily Post Fenton of New Martinsville, West Virginia, and Priscilla Fenton Hament, her husband Andrew Hament and grandchildren Blake and Caroline Hament of Indialantic, Florida. She married Charles Herbert Fenton, III, on October 16, 1948, who died May 29, 1971. She was preceded in death by her infant son Charles Herbert Fenton, IV; sister Patricia Post Muldoon; half-brother Charles Barnes Voitelle; and, Aunt Marianna Barnes Ward. She was graduated from Lost Creek High School, attended West Virginia Wesleyan College (WVWC), and was graduated from West Virginia University (WVU) in 1948. While at WVU she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Mrs. Fenton was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Magna Carta Dames of America, First United Methodist Church of Buckhannon, WVU and WVWC Emeritus Clubs, and was a former member of the American Association of University Women. She was also a member of the Buckhannon Country Club which she served as the first, elected woman president of the Board of Directors. She was a Girl Scout Troop Leader for 8 years. The family thanks the wonderful team at Elkins Hospice Care Corp. who supported her and our family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Buckhannon Fire Department and First United Methodist Church of Buckhannon, West Virginia. Friends will be received Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Steven Meadows and Rev. Billee Scott Mick officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
