Carrie Lou Green Floyd
Carrie Lou Green Floyd, of 13 Orr Street, Buckhannon, WV departed this life Monday, December 27, 2010. She was born November 1, 1933 in Charleston, WV, a daughter of the late Joseph L. Green and Elva Hill Green. She was preceded in death by her brother 1st Lt. Joseph L. Green (World War II) and a sister, Elizabeth Vickers. She is survived by her husband, Frank N. Floyd; two sons, Frank Floyd and wife Karen of Buckhannon and Robert Floyd and wife Jennifer of Hinkleville; three grandsons, Jason Bennett and wife Jill of Bardstown, KY, Aaron Floyd of Buckhannon and Matthew Floyd of Hinkleville; two granddaughters, Amy Floyd of Buckhannon and Elizabeth Floyd of Hinkleville; one great-granddaughter, Samantha Bennett of Bardstown and one sister, Mary Gantt of Brooklyn, CT. Mrs. Floyd was a retired teacher for Upshur County. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Order Of Eastern Star, DAR, Upshur Shrine Club Aux., Charter Member of Groundhog Club and the Buckhannon Women’s Club. Friends will be received Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 4-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. She will lie in state from 10-11 AM the funeral hour on Thursday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steven Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park at Tennerton, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
