Velma Echard Velma Echard Velma Echard, age 88, of Buckhannon, WV, died Thursday, January 31, 2013 at her home. She was born March 12, 1924 in Upshur Co., WV, a daughter of the late Lonnie and Belle Hibbs Lowe. On May 8, 1942 she married E. Pearl Echard who preceded her in death on September 4, 1985. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Warren Echard. She is survived by three daughters, Crystal Tenney and husband Kenneth and Helen Joyce Echard all of Buckhannon, and Anita Rose Hamner of Mt. Carmel, WV; three grandsons, Mitchell Tenney of Ten Mile, WV, Martin Tenney of Buckhannon, and Edgar Hamner of Mt. Carmel; three granddaughters, Rosalin Arbogast of Mill Creek, WV, Julie Hamner of Buckhannon, and Olivia Hamner of Mt. Carmel; five great grandchildren and one sister, Iris Brake of Export, PA. Mrs. Echard was a Clerical Worker at the Senior Center. She was a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church and attended the Tallmansville Baptist Church. Mrs. Echard was a past member of Tallmansville CEOS & Pythian Sisters. Friends will be received Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV.
