untitled3 Leta M. Davisson Leta M. Davisson, age 105, of Buckhannon, WV went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 4, 2013. She was born May 18, 1908 in Arlington, WV a daughter of the late Charles E. and Iva (Siron) Hickman. She was united in marriage to Brennie Osborn on September 30, 1934, who preceded her in death on December 31, 1975. In 1981 she married Roy Davisson who preceded her in death on January 1, 1994. Leta is the last of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Opal Bond and Wanna Waugh, one brother, Preston Hickman, one niece, Jane Bond Adams and three nephews, Donald Bond, Darrell Waugh and Clayton Waugh, Jr. She is survived by several great and great great nieces and nephews and step daughter, Susan Singleton. She will join her special friend and neighbor, Virginia Linger who went on to be with the Lord on the 1st of March. They may be neighbors in gloryland now. Mrs. Davisson was employed with the dietary department of the Weston State Hospital from 1952 – 1962. She had been with the Region VII Aging Services, Inc. for 27 years. Realizing how good God has been to her, Leta was a great prayer warrior and desired to help others. She is a member of the Buckhannon Union Mission Church where she will be greatly missed. Leta’s parting words: “God has been so good to me. I just want to say – do not mourn my leaving, because I am already in the presence of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and all my loved ones who have preceded me.” On Monday, July 8, 2013 from 10 AM – 1 PM she will lie in state at the Buckhannon Union Mission Church. Starting at 1 PM on Monday at the church a praise service to celebrate her life will follow with her Pastor Rev. Dennis Estes and the Rev. Jerry Lee officiating. Interment will be in the Carder Cemetery at Vadis, WV. Instead of flowers, Leta requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army. A basket will be provided in the Church Foyer for your convenience. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
