untitled3 Creed Sylvanus Simons, II Creed Sylvanus Simons, II, age 69, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at his home under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice of Buckhannon. He was born May 20, 1943 in Clarksburg, WV, a son of the late Creed Sylvanus and Birtise Lillian Gould Simons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his adopted parents, Leslie and Edna Simons and one brother, Richard Simons. He is survived by niece, Breanna Poling of Buckhannon and several other nieces and nephews. Mr. Simons was a Nurse’s Aide at Weston State Hospital in Weston, WV. He was a Christian by faith, a Volunteer for the Troop# 128 as an assistant Scout Master. He was a Foster Grandparent Region # 7 and an Upshur County Head Start Volunteer. He also served in the US Army and was stationed all over the world. Friends will be received Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Brad Tenney officiating. VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, and DAV Chapters # 5 & # 36 will conduct military honors at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
