Marjorie Marie Hickman

Marjorie Marie Hickman, a resident of the Hodgesville Community, passed away March 9, 2024, at WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was born January 26, 1936, in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Martin Edward and Geneva Crites Fallen. On October 23, 1953, she married Donald Wayne Hickman who proceeded her in death on December 13, 2013. She is survived by one son Donald Stephen Hickman wife Ruth of Lincolnton NC;  two daughters, Sheila Beckner of Hodgesville and  Cathy Tenney and partner Allen Evix of Buckhannon; one grandson, Ronnie Joe Beckner, Jr. and wife Tracey of Danse, WV; six granddaughters Shannon Becker Carr and partner Carl Perry, Ashley Tenney and partner Dustin Wamsley, Carol Tenney and partner Jeff Cowger of Buckhannon, Diana Beckner and partner Tim Tenney of Big Ben, Jennifer Farmer and husband Kirk of Denver, NC, and Stacey Hickman and partner Phillip Tenney of Newton NC; 13 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Dorthy Zirkle of Boulder, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Anne May Baxa, Mary Suder, and Juanita Mustian; four brothers, Clifford, Dilworth Robert and James Fallen; one granddaughter Kimberly Beckner; two sons-in-law, Ronnie B Beckner and Charles Tenney. Mrs. Hickman worked in Dietary at Holbrook Nursing Home for many years before retiring to take care of her husband. She was a Methodist by faith, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. In honoring her wishes, Mrs. Hickman will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
