Arkie Gerald Snyder, age 84, life-long resident of Hampton, WV, died Saturday, December 23, 2023, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. He was born April 11, 1939, in Buckhannon, WV, a son of the late Carl F. and Agnes Tenney Snyder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Ware and sister, Jean Grandinette. He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Lemons and husband Randal and Lynne Perry and husband Steve all of Buckhannon; one granddaughter; three grandsons; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Wilda Lunceford of FL, Bessie Utz and husband Chuck of Follansbee, WV and Barbra Gould of GA; one brother, Steve Snyder and wife Diane of WI and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Snyder was a coal miner and a member of the Sago Baptist Church and the United Mine Workers. Friends will be received Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Sago Baptist Church in Sago, WV. A funeral service will be held Thursday 10 AM at the Church with the Rev. Wease Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
