William Roy Ervin, age 91, of Rock Cave, WV, died Monday, December 18, 2023, at his home. He was born April 30, 1932, in Kanawha Head, WV, a son of the late William Henry and Wanda Winona Curry Ervin. On February 5, 1955, he married Alice Roselee Teter Ervin who preceded him in death on December 29, 2016. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Davidson and one half- brother, Patrick Brake. He is survived by one son, Wayne Ervin and wife Kim of Parkersbug, WV; two daughters, Glenda Cutright and husband Scott of Rock Cave and Diana Riffle and husband Norman of Grafton, WV; five grandsons, Dusty Ogden of French Creek, WV, Phillip Ogden of Rock Cave, Ben Ervin of Parkersburg, WV, Dustin Cutright of French Creek and Kenny Cutright of Rock Cave; three granddaughters, Angela McCoy of Rock Cave, Rosanna Arnold of Greensboro, NC and Leanne Lutz of Fairmont, WV; several great grandchildren and one half-sister, Phyllis Brake of Marrietta, OH. Mr. Ervin was a member of the Rock Cave Independent Baptist Church. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, was a volunteer firefighter and retired from Corhart Refractories as finisher. In his free time, he enjoyed tinkering with cars and spending time with his family. In honoring Mr. Ervin’s wishes he will be cremated.
