untitled3 Etta “Jo” Simmons Russell Etta “Jo” Simmons Russell, age 76, of Tallmansville, WV died Friday, September 20, 2013 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, OH. She was born July 3, 1937 in Haywood, WV, a daughter of the late Rev. Harry and Sadis Wolfe Simmons. On June 30, 1956 she married Grover Russell who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Scott Russell and wife Nicki of Tallmansville, Tom Russell and wife Darlene of Century, WV, Rod Russell and wife Barb of Finleyville, PA and Phil Russell and wife Karen of Parsons, WV; one daughter, Karen Beard and husband Arch of South Daytona, FL; ten grandsons, nine granddaughters; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers; five sisters; step mother, Kathleen Simmons of Scott Depot, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters. Mrs. Russell was a homemaker and a member of the Ten Mile Baptist Church in Tallmansville. Mrs. Russell’s greatest pleasure in life was her family. Friends will be received Monday, September 23, 2013 from 4-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Brad Tenney officiating. Burial will follow in the Lanham Cemetery in Queens, WV.
