Obituary of Leonard S. Mick

Leonard S. “Bud” Mick, age 84, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, September 3, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. He was born December 23, 1932 in Clendenin, WV, a son of the late Leonard P. and Ella Sandy Mick. On December 21, 1953 he married Arletta Haymond who preceded him in death on June 23, 2011. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one daughter, Amber Mick and one grandson, Tug Roby. He is survived by one daughter, Teresa Ann Roby and husband Larry of Henderson, KY; one son, Leonard Butch Mick and wife Deborah of Eden, WV; one grandson, Leonard Lynn Mick, III and partner Mark of Richmond, VA; one granddaughter, Tiffany Springer and husband Brandon of Henderson; one great-granddaughter, Zoe of Richmond; two cats, Buddy and Biggin and two brothers and three sisters. Mr. Mick served in the US Army during the Korean War. He loved to golf and was a member of the Buckhannon Country Club where he had worked since he was 13 years old. He was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and was an avid member of the Elks Lodge and the Buckhannon Moose Lodge # 598. Friends will be received Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Helen R. Oates officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Veterans Cemetery in Buckhannon. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
