Obituary of Jonathan Boone Dagley

Jonathan Boone Dagley, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Holbrook’s on the Hill in Buckhannon. He was born September 23, 1931 in Union Ridge, IL, a son of the late Chauncey Lewis and Worthy Elizabeth Downen Dagley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Malcolm Dagley; one sister, Margret Sawyer and one niece, Patricia Sawyer. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Frances Venters Dagley; one daughter, Sandra Hinchman of Buckhannon; one son, Darrell Dean Dagley and wife Joyce of Buckhannon; three grandsons, Jamie Hinchman, Bucky Hinchman and wife Virginia and Trent Dagley and wife Destiny all of Buckhannon; one grandson, in his heart, Russell Bennett and wife Bobbie Jo of Horner, WV; four great-granddaughters, Aslynn, Ashley and Tiffany Hinchman and Annabelle Dagley; one great grandson, Jonathan Hinchman; one brother, Larry Dagley and wife Barbara and several nieces, nephews and caring friends. Mr. Dagley served in the United States National Guard for two years and worked in the oil & gas industry as a logging engineer. He was a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church, loved Rev. Butcher and attending bible study. Mr. Dagley loved being with his family and having big family dinners. Friends will be received Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 11 AM to 1 PM, the funeral hour, with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
