Obituary of Clifton Dale George

Clifton Dale George, age 74, of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. He was born January 20, 1943 in Buckhannon, a son of Opal Lantz George and the late Ernest George. In addition to his mother he is survived by fiancé Kim Heater of Buckhannon; two sons, Michael George and Billy Heater both of Buckhannon; three daughters, Zoe Ann George of Athens, TN and Bobby Sothen and Betty Heater both of Buckhannon; four grandsons, Levi George, Keagan Heater and Maverick Sothen all of Buckhannon and Cason Kelley of TN; three granddaughters, Haley and Holly Kelley and Aryana King all of TN; one brother, Sam George of CA and three sisters, Melva Michaels of CA, Sandy Marple of Buckhannon and Carolyn Brake of SC. Mr. George was a carpenter and served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. In honoring his wishes, Mr. George will be cremated. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 3 to 5 PM. The memorial service will follow at 5 PM Friday at the funeral home with Dr. Michael T. George officiating. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
