untitled1 Barbara D. Koon Barbara D. Koon, age 46, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the Hospice Care In-Patient Center of Elkins, WV. She was born on January 6, 1963 a daughter of Donald and Mary Smith DeBarr. On August 28, 1983 she married John W. Koon who survives. In addition to her parents and husband she survived by two sons, Walter G. DeBarr and Jonathan K. Koon and wife Nikki all of Buckhannon; two daughters, Jainnie Koon, and Marie Koon both of Buckhannon; grandchildren Shaden and Skyler Debarr and Elijah Koon and one on the way; three brothers, Junior DeBarr and wife Nat and Roger DeBarr all of Buckhannon, and Randy DeBarr of Columbus, OH; two sisters Shirley Tenney and husband Rick and Debbie Hollen and husband Glenn all of Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Koon was a secretary for Hinkle Glass and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Friends will be received Friday, August 7, 2009 from 6 to 9 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 12 to 1 PM the funeral hour with Bishop Cecil Clark officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Union Church Cemetery. VFW Post #3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post #7 American Legion and DAV Chapters #5 and #36 will conduct military honors at the graveside. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
