I've not only lost my only sibling and brother, but I've lost my best friend. We were inseparably close from the time we were just little kids and through all the years afterward after we became adults. We supported each other no matter what. He called me every day, and now when I leave my cell phone and get back to it, I still look for a missed call from him. We were always making jokes when he called except when he wanted me to order car parts for him online. His jokes and pranks were hilarious. The last time I visited him and Deborah I had driven my SS Camaro convertible there. He hated convertibles. And he didn't like Chevys either. We were outside one afternoon, talking to a new neighbor of his. I turned around to walk back inside, but I noticed something on the windshield of my car. He'd put a FOR RENT sign on the windshield! You can only imagine how hard we both laughed.
I saw a Charlie Brown and Snoopy thing on FB and it spoke to me in so many ways. This is the written part of it:
There are moments when the silence of the night speaks louder than any words, and our hearts naturally wander toward the ones we’ve lost but will never forget. Looking up at the stars isn't just about admiring the view; it’s a quiet way of saying 'I miss you' and checking in on the souls who shaped our lives. Tonight, take a moment to look up and send a smile to the heavens. They are never truly gone as long as we keep looking for them. Look up and think of my beloved brother.
