Paul R. Linger passed away at Nella's at Autumn Lake Nursing Home on December 19, 2025.  Paul was born on August 22, 1931, in Adrian WV, the youngest child of Willie Linger and Ruth (Spiker) Wilson.  Paul married Geraldine "Jerry" Bennett on November 11, 1951.  They enjoyed 61 years of marriage. He is survived by one daughter, Serena R. Peterson and husband Ken of Buckhannon; three great-grandsons, Alexzander Peterson of Appleton, WI, Tyler “Holly” Peterson of Nelsonville, OH and Robert Peterson of Nelsonville, OH; one step-brother Wilfred "Bumps" Wilson of Inwood, WV; one granddaughter in law, Nycole Peterson of Nelsonville, OH; a niece, Carolyn Schmidt of Crofton, MD; one sister in law, Nancy Bennett of Merritt Island, FL; one brother in law, Bob Bennett of St. Cloud, FL; friends, Frank and Debbie Ryan and Scott Andrew all of Buckhannon and Dave Bookman of Romney, WV and cousins, John Dilley of Hyattsville, MD; and Bill and Rosie Berdine of Philippi,WV. He was preceded in death by his parents - Willie Linger and Ruth Spiker Wilson, his wife - Geraldine "Jerry" Linger, his siblings - Dorsey Linger and Iris Linger Cutright, and his grandson - Dustin Peterson. Paul was an Air Force veteran. He had been employed at WV Wesleyan College as a master electrician for many years.  After retirement, he worked at the Upshur County Jail as a correctional officer. He was always ready to lend a hand to people in their home repairs. Paul grew up in the country and always loved everything to do outdoors - hunting, fishing, camping, etc.  He and Jerry traveled across a good bit of the US while enjoying fishing, and rock and gem collecting.  Paul dearly enjoyed the company of his wife, his grandson, and his three great-grandchildren.
