Mary Jo Stevens Sharp, age 89, of Volga, WV, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, September 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 12, 1936, in Mannington, WV, a daughter of the late John and Mabel Hawkins Stevens. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Herbert Dale Sharp; two sisters, Dorothy and Edith; three brothers, Virgil, Earl and Billy; and her sweet dog Daisy. Surviving is her beloved son, Robert Dale Sharp and wife Pat of Volga and cherished granddaughter, Lisa Marie Brown and husband Tyler of Buckhannon, and several nieces and nephews. Mary Jo loved to read, talk on the phone and was an amazing cook. She enjoyed beautiful flowers and was an avid collector of blue glassware. She was always up for an adventure. Mary Jo found joy in helping others and touched many lives with her kindness. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery in Philippi, WV, with the Rev. Brandon Moll officiating.
