Bessie “Betty” E. Smith, age 95, went home to be with the Lord on August 22, 2025. She was born December 9, 1929, in Weston, West Virginia. Bessie was a member of Passion Church in Hartville and frequently attended Higher Praise Ministries in Munroe Falls. Preceded in death by her husband, Morris Smith; son, Nicholas Smith; three brothers; and five sisters. She is survived by children, Carla (Bob) Walkerow, Lonnie (Tina) Smith, Joyce (Gary) Williams, Bobby Smith, Mark (Dawn) Smith, Sonya (Joe) Berenyi, and Morris (Amanda) Smith Jr.; 22 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren. A special thank you for the love and care from great granddaughter, Leigh Neal, daughter-in-law, Tina Smith, and nurse and great granddaughter, Kristin Smith. Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 26, 2025, 7:00 pm at Passion Church, 61 Hartville Rd, Hartville, OH 44632. Family will receive friends from 4:30 pm until the service at the church in Ohio. Friends will be received Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 12 Noon until 1 PM  at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon, WV. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Fred Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Indian Camp Cemetery in French Creek, WV.
