Charles Wilson “Chuck” Canfield, born September 5, 1952, in Buckhannon, West Virginia, to LeRoy and Valta Canfield, passed peacefully at home in Leesburg, Florida, on April 5, 2025. He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Carla, daughter, Shauna Ushko and husband, James, son, C.W. Canfield and wife Sarah, doting grandchildren, Ashley Benyovszky and husband, Paul, grandsons Michael Ushko, Charles “Wilson” Canfield III, Austin Canfield, Harry Canfield, and great granddaughter Madi Benyovszky. Chuck is also survived by brothers Ed and Tom, brother-in-law, Mike Cutright, and many loving extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Joe, and sister, Cay. Chuck never met a stranger nor lacked for a joke. His infectious smile and laughter will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Chuck attended Buchannon-Upshur High School and Glenville State University, going on to have a successful career in Oil and Gas consultation. He married his high school, sweetheart, Carla, in 1970. They chose to settle in French Creek, West Virginia, to raise their children near their extended families. Chuck was at the center of every gathering, story and prank. He enjoyed four wheeling trips with his buddies, but absolutely delighted in time with his children and grandchildren, who all knew him his Papa.

The family will received guests on Monday, April 14th, 9:00 am at Beyers Funeral Home, 1123 West Main Street, Leesburg, FL 34748. A celebration of life service will follow at 10:00 am.
