Josie “Judy” Crites, age 78, of Buckhannon, WV, died Saturday, May 24, 2025, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born April 8, 1947, in Imperial, WV, a daughter of the late George Junior and Verna Evline Tenney Bond. On November 30, 1969, she married Edwin Glenn Crites who preceded her in death on March 9, 2006. She is survived by one son, Edwin “Glenn” Crites II and wife Lenni of Roanoke, WV; one daughter, Evlyn McLean and husband Jeff of French Creek, WV; one grandson, Clinton Parker Crites of French Creek; one granddaughter, Kloey Nicole Crites of French Creek; one step granddaughter, Sara Bleigh; two step great grandchildren, Bailee and Brody Bleigh; three brothers, James E. Bond and wife Michele of NJ, and Joseph Bond and wife Mata and Ford Bond and wife Marie all of French Creek; two sisters, Marguerite Zirkle and husband Homer and Wilda Posey all of Buckhannon, WV and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members. Mrs. Crites was a CNA for the Senior Center and ResCare. She enjoyed gardening and participating in the homemaker’s club. In honoring Mrs. Crites’ wishes, she will be cremated.
