Shirley Kay Chapman, age 83, of Buckhannon, WV, died Sunday, May 11, 2025, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born May 17, 1941, in Sistersville, WV, a daughter of the late Ora Lester Thompson, Sr., and Edith Ash Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Aaron H. Grose, second husband, Harry L. Chapman; seven sisters, Amanda (Betty) Spenser, Dorthy Wadsworth, Mary Harrison, Lorine M. Thompson, Orpha M. Lynch, Avie Jean Thompson and Barbara Ann Thompson and one brother, Charles E. Thompson. She is survived by one son, Wendell Grose and wife Anna of Buckhannon; two step sons, Thomas W. Chapman and wife Nancy and David L. Chapman and wife Janet of Philippi, WV; two grandchildren, Aaron R. Grose and Laura R. Grose both of Buckhannon; four step grandchildren, Chris Chapman of Fairmont, WV, Katie Fleming, Nathen Chapman and Matthew Chapman; two great grandchildren; one brother, Ora L.
