Roger Lee Harper, age 68, of Weston, WV, died Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston. He was born January 6, 1957, in Charleston, WV, a son of the late Clyde and Ruby Wolfe Harper. On June 1, 2012, he married Crystal Springman Harper who survives. Also surviving two bonus daughters, Caley Little of Carlinville, IL and Renee Little of Weston; four bonus grandchildren, Annaleigh, Emma, Matthew and Brylynn; four sisters, Carol Silvester of Coalton, WV, Joyce Reed and husband Ron of Buckhannon, Sharon Helms of Martinsburg, WV and Sue Given and husband Gary of Buckhannon; two brothers, Wayne Harper and wife Barbara of NC and Rick Harper and wife Sandy of Buckhannon; sister-in-law, Hilda Fields of Winfield, WV; several nieces and nephews; friend, John Slaughter of Buckhannon and his beloved dog, Mia Harper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Fields and Lewis Harper and a brother-in-law, Tony Silvester. Mr. Harper loved hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles. He has traveled 48 states on his motorcycle. Friends will be received Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Veterans Cemetery in Buckhannon. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct Military Honors at the gravesite. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
