Obituary of Ludie Mae Queen
Ludie Mae Queen, age 96, of Buckhannon, WV, died Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center in Elkins, WV. She was born January 6, 1925, in Amherst County, VA, a daughter of the late Tinsley and Susie Beverly Hamilton. On December 15, 1945, she married Robert Queen who preceded her in death on July 18, 1991. Surviving are one daughter, Robin Queen Triplett and husband Charles of Buckhannon, WV; one grandson, Robert C. Triplett of Buckhannon; adoptive grandchildren, Wayne Conner, II wife Tiffany and daughter, Chloe all of Wagener, SC and Janna Rice and boyfriend Josh Hinchman of Buckhannon and one sister, Madeline Bardis of Buena Vista, VA. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her adoptive daughter, Janan Hamilton; five brothers, Richard, Henry Owen, Willie, Eugene and Jackie Hamilton and three sisters, Virgie Martin, Essie McDaniel, and Virginia Gregory. Mrs. Queen was a Homemaker. Her life was her family, she lived for them and through them. She loved being outdoors and enjoyed walking in the woods, hunting, and gardening. The family sends a special thank you to Larry and Winnie Harvey for their help through the years and to Ludie’s home caregivers and staff at Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center for their wonderful care and compassion. Friends will be received Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 12 PM (noon) to 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Entombment will follow at the Buckhannon Memorial Park Mausoleum in Buckhannon.
