Helen A. Samples, age 86, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Holbrook’s Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born September 21, 1931 in Kanawha Head, WV, a daughter of the late Virgil and Brenice Helmick Davidson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett Samples; one sister, Leona Pugh and one brother, Edward Davidson. She is survived by three sisters, Betty Pitcock of Buckhannon, Louise Hull of Rock Cave, WV and Opal Cunningham of Bridgeport, WV; two brothers, James Davidson and wife Patricia of Salem, WV and Gerald Davidson of Thornton, CO and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Samples was a member of Liberty Baptist and a life time member of the Chester Newell Eagles Club in Chester, WV. Friends will be received Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor David Jessie officiating. Burial will follow in the Heaston Ridge Church Cemetery in Heaston Ridge, WV.
