Obituary of Wilma Pearl Harman

Wilma Pearl Harman, age 86, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, October 2, 2017 at Holbrook’s on the Hill. She was born April 8, 1931 in Adrian, WV, the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Jeanetta Hunt Hayes. On May 30, 1947, she married Duren Harman who preceded her in death on December 18, 1972. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Lance, Gerald “Tuck”, Hartsel “Harts” and Ralph “Ront” Hayes and three sisters, Dora Westfall, Ruby Wheaton and Shirley Bosley. She is survived by one son, Ken Harman and wife Joan of Buckhannon, two granddaughters, Carrie Bowers and husband Justin of Buckhannon and Sara Linder and husband Jeremy of Eaton, OH; six great granddaughters, Malia, Pressley and Isabella Bowers all of Buckhannon and Tessa, Kinsey and Addie Linder all of Eaton and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Harman was known to her great grandchildren as “Chocolate Chip Grandma”. She loved playing BINGO, feeding birds and finding Bible verses for her Sunday School class. Mrs. Harman was extremely loving and put the well-being of others before herself. Friends will be received Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 5 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels and Pastor Justin Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse P.O. Box 3000 Boone, NC 28607, to help with disasters around the world.
