Obituary of Carol June Sothen

Carol June Dean Sothen, age 72, of Buckhannon, WV passed from this life on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 28, 1945 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Jesse Junior and Edith Elaine Wentz Dean. On May 17, 1963 she married Carl Sothen who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Deneta Cox and husband Roger of Uhrichsville, OH; one son, Richard Sothen and wife Melissa of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Tiffiny Day and Jenson Sothen both of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Brandon Day and Caleb Sothen and wife Bobby all of Buckhannon; four great grandsons, Logan Wamsley, Liam and Cooper Day and “one on the way” Maverick Sothen all of Buckhannon; six sisters, Twila Moreland, Lucille Wilfong, Darlene Dean, Glenda Wright and husband Kenneth, Luella Saffle and husband Terry, and Kenna Marie Everson and husband Joe all of Buckhannon; two brothers, Lawrence Dean and wife Sherry and Jesse Raymond Dean and wife Becky all of Buckhannon and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Nila Virginia Dean; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Moreland and Ralph Maynard Dean, mother-in-law, Ocie Geraldin Sothen and father-in-law Henry Edward Sothen. Carol was a seamstress and an active member and President of the Mt. Nebo CEO’s and the Buckhannon Eagles Club. She was very active in her community and enjoyed bowling, bingo and has made many lifelong dear friends over the years. Friends will be received Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 5 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kesling Mill, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
