Obituary of Ada Virginia Zickefoose

Ada Virginia Zickefoose, age 91, of Hemlock, WV died Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center in Elkins, WV. She was born May 23, 1926 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Dudley and Guida Wagner Currence. On December 24, 1948 she married Camden Marvin Zickefoose who died May 1, 2012. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three sisters, Creola Lanham, Viola Scott and Izetta Jack; one brother, Dudley Junior Currence and one daughter in law, Nina Zickefoose. She is survived by five sons, Keith Zickefoose and companion Martha of Buckhannon, WV, Marvin Kyle Zickefoose and wife Shirley of Tallmansville, WV, Kelmer Zickefoose of Hemlock and fiancé, Debra Hanifan of Buckhannon, Kirk Zickefoose and Shirley of Haysi, VA and Morris Kemp Zickefoose of Hemlock; three daughters, Sheila Clara Light and husband Melvin of Buckhannon, Sharon Vonda Davis and husband Ross of Hemlock and Sheryl Christene Cutright and husband Mike of Mooresville, NC; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one sister, Lydia Armeda Tenney and husband Lawrence of Mill Creek, WV and special friends, Shawn and Tammy Tenney of Buckhannon. Mrs. Zickefoose was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at ERCC and WV Caring. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 4-8 PM. She will lie in state from 1-2 PM the funeral hour on Thursday at the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Hemlock with the Rev. William Lanham and Pastor Holly J. Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Church Cemetery in Hemlock.
