Obituary of Charles Ralph Rice

Charles Ralph Rice, age 83, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Holbrook’s on the Hill in Buckhannon. He was born May 10, 1934 in Rock Cave, WV, a son of the late Martin Vane and Mildred Irene Haught Rice. On April 11, 1957 he married Kathleen Emma Haymond who preceded him in death on September 5, 2017. Surviving are two sons, Rodney Rice and wife Linda of Navarre, OH and Brad Rice and wife Jean of Massillon, OH; one grandson, Scott Grimm of Canton, OH; one great granddaughter, Chloe Grimm of Massillon and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by three sons, Doug, Steve and Joe Grimm. Mr. Rice served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Way of Holiness Church and a Steel Roller at J&L Steel. Friends will be received Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 12 noon to 1 PM, the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the Rock Cave Cemetery in Rock Cave, WV. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
