Obituary of Duard Junior Armstrong

Duard “Buck” Junior Armstrong, age 89, of Wheeling, WV, died Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas, NC. He was born March 4, 1928 in Morgantown, WV, a son of the late Roy and Margaret Groggs Armstrong. On June 20, 1946 he married Lucille Craven who preceded him in death on March 9, 2012. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one son, Junior Armstrong and three sisters, Genevieve Smith, Kathleen Blakeley and Lois Jean Rice. He is survived by one daughter, Carole Griffin and husband Gerald of Mt. Holly, NC; three granddaughters, Kendra Barzak and husband Jason of Waxhaw, NC, Michelle Bauer of Glendale, WV and Ashley Griffin of Mt. Holly; one grandson, Cody Griffin of Mt. Holly; two great-granddaughters, Ceara and Abbey Bauer both of Glendale; one great-grandson, Jakob Barzak of Waxhaw; daughter-in-law, Sharlet Armstrong of Conway, SC and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Armstrong was a coal miner. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Friends will be received Monday, January 1, 2018 from 10-11 AM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 11:15 AM Monday, January 1, 2018 at the Buckhannon Memorial Park with the Rev. Brad Tenney officiating.
